Overview
From the moment an applicant for a job walks into your business, the demands of employment law come into play, starting with the initial recruitment and selection process, continuing on with how they are managed and treated during their working life and ending with their departure from the organisation. Employment legislation touches upon most, if not all of the aspects of the experience of being employed in Ireland. This means that as a business owner, manager, supervisor or team leader, you need to know your stuff. The consequences of making a mistake can be very expensive. Every year lots of Irish companies fall foul of employment law, many due to lack of knowledge of the legal obligations they face. As a result, many face substantial compensation and legal costs.
